Position: Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Bakersfield, CA. This is a travel assignment starting 06/29/2026 for 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the labor and delivery process, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications as ordered, and assist with labor management and delivery procedures as appropriate.
- Assess patient needs, document assessments and interventions, and update the care plan to reflect changing conditions.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinating care with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatal staff, and other disciplines as needed.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to prioritize care and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain infection control practices, patient advocacy, and adherence to policies and regulations throughout shift.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Ability to work nights on a 3x12-hour schedule in a labor and delivery setting
- Experience in obstetric or labor and delivery nursing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and care planning using the nursing process
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate interdisciplinary care
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced obstetric care environment
