Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the Emergency Department according to the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Collect relevant data, analyze assessments, and develop/implement a plan of care; promote safe, healing environment.
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse reactions, and intervene as needed; respond to acute changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Monitor, supervise, and coordinate activities of nursing staff and other team members on the unit.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide patient/family education to support continuity of care after discharge.
- Document care and patient status accurately; ensure effective handoffs and communication across shifts.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California or state of assignment) and in good standing.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor; CPR is acceptable as noted.
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER/acute care nursing experience.
- BSN preferred.
- Ability to work nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in a fast-paced Emergency Department; strong critical-thinking and teamwork skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
