Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both circulating and sedation roles, with strong clinical skills in acute care settings and the flexibility to assist in pre- and post-procedure care as needed.
Shift Details
- Schedule Options: 4x10-hour shifts or 3x12-hour shifts
- If 4x10s: Shift timing may be staggered (e.g., 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- On-Call Requirement: 9–10 days per month
- Includes 1 Friday and 1 weekend per month
- Holiday on-call required (summer or winter, depending on assignment dates)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Perform circulating and sedation roles during procedures
- Support patient preparation and recovery as needed
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments in an acute care environment
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License/Registration
- Minimum 1.5–2 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years)
- At least 2 years of experience in Cath Lab or related specialty
- Current BLS certification (must be able to recertify)
- Experience in hospitals of similar or larger size/acuity
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to pass pre-employment health screening, drug test, and background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of Cath Lab experience
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers
- Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Records
- Experience with both sedation and circulating roles
