This travel RN role serves adults/geriatrics in a Cardiac Cath / Interventional Radiology unit performing a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures within a regional health system. Responsibilities include direct patient care, procedural support, and charting in EPIC, with call requirements and unit float as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide bedside care and monitoring for adults/geriatrics in the Cath Lab / IR unit, including procedural support for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations (left and right heart), pulmonary artery monitoring (Swan-Ganz), and related sedation monitoring under procedural protocols.
- Monitor patient status, recognize and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to hemodynamic changes; document events and interventions in the EPIC charting system.
- Prepare equipment, assist physicians and anesthesia teams, maintain sterile technique, and support procedural workflows for high-acuity cath/IR cases.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessment before, during, and after procedures; manage post-procedure recovery parameters and ensure safe discharge planning per unit guidelines.
- Maintain competency in EKG interpretation and correlate rhythm findings with patient status; participate in unit float as needed based on scope of practice.

Requirements
- Active New York State RN license at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in cath lab and interventional radiology (IR)
- EKG competency requirements: Relias EKG exam completed within 72 hours of signing with 100% score; onsite EKG requires 85% and identification of all critical rhythms; retest/remediation possible per facility discretion
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record; ability to document accurately and efficiently
- HealthStream modules: RN average 12–15 hours; all required modules must be completed by 7:00 a.m. the Wednesday prior to start
- Floating within hospital as needed within the defined skill set; call coverage of 9–10 days per month
- Local radius rule: candidates with permanent address within 50 miles are NOT accepted
- Education: nursing degree (RN) with eligibility for New York state licensure
- Additional: ability to work in a high-acuity Cath Lab / IR environment and adhere to hospital policies
