Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with high-acuity cardiac/telemetry experience for a night shift position requiring an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 42-bed Cardio/Neurovascular Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
  • High-acuity patient population with a 1:6 patient ratio
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • 36 or 48 hours per week with block scheduling available
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • 13-week contract, ending on a Tuesday
  • Epic EMR used

Requirements

  • Active AL or compact RN license required, must be in good standing with no pending status
  • 1-2 years of RN experience required, with strong high-acuity patient care skills
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
  • Cardiac drip experience required (Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone)
  • Experience working in large healthcare facilities preferred
  • Compliance documentation due one week prior to start
  • Flu and COVID vaccinations required, with medical/religious exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for high-acuity telemetry patients
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias as part of daily patient care
  • Scrub requirement: all navy or navy bottoms with white top
  • Preferred RTO is 3-5 days, with a maximum of 7 days allowed per 13-week contract
  • Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
  • Former permanent staff are ineligible for travel roles for 10 years following separation
  • Travelers must take a 6-month break after completing 2 consecutive contracts before returning, with exceptions considered case-by-case
