Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in the inpatient behavioral health unit for adolescent patients
- Develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care; evaluate patient outcomes; identify available resources for patients
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects; monitor mental status, vital signs, and overall safety; employ de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques as needed
- Document care in the electronic medical record; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team; participate in rounds and discharge planning; educate patients and families about care plans and resources
- Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies; maintain infection control and safety standards; adhere to unit policies and procedures
- Maintain CPI techniques and state nursing standards; contribute to a supportive, therapeutic environment for patients

Requirements
- Active Maine RN license
- Associate degree in Nursing (2-year) required
- BLS Certification required
- CPI training must be current prior to start
- At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing
- Residency outside of a 50-mile radius from Lewiston, ME
- Ability to work in an inpatient psychiatric setting with adolescent patients; flexible, team-oriented, and capable of managing stress
