Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years specific to Interventional Radiology at a Level 1 Trauma Center License: Required Certifications: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS Must-Have: Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; circulating-operating equipment, providing needed supplies Description: Interventional Radiology Tech position available. The department has 8 rooms dedicated to Interventional Radiology. Average patients per day range from 45 to 50 cases. Will accept first-time travelers. Patient types include those with strokes, cancer, tumors, peripheral occlusions, carotid issues, and IVC and SVC concerns. Neuro conditions include strokes, ruptures, and subdural fistulas. Trauma care includes complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, Sir spheres, biopsies, and various drainage and access procedures. There are 7 providers and 4 advanced practice providers in the department. Support staff includes 3 tech extenders to assist with room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory. Each room has 2 techs and an RN present. Technology utilized includes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems and GE US Units. Call is required, with 3-4 call days per month. Weekend call is every 5th to 6th weekend, from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Holiday work is expected if scheduled. Schedule cycles occur every 4-6 weeks. Scrub color is provided by the hospital. The department culture is very welcoming to new graduates, who may need preceptorship.
