Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: Interventional Radiology Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift - 36 hours per week Hours per Shift: 7am-7pm Experience: 1 year minimum required License: ARRT(R) required Certifications: BLS required; Vascular Interventional Radiology (VI) preferred Must-Have: Basic knowledge of GI bleeds/embolization, nephrostomy tubes, IVC filter placement, suprapubic catheter insertion Description: The Interventional Radiology Tech will perform a variety of interventional radiology procedures. The facility has a total of 373 licensed beds, including acute and inpatient rehabilitation units. The emergency department has 30 beds, and the ICU has 46 beds. Common procedures include embolizations for visceral GI bleeds, uterine artery, prostate procedures, and liver chemo. The Tech will also assist with port insertions/removals, nephrostomy tube insertions, and IVC filter placements. Additional procedures include biliary stent placements, vascular stent placements, and angioplasty. The Tech will be involved in G/J tube insertions, suprapubic catheter insertions, and various other interventional procedures. Support within the department includes a team of techs and nursing support. The tech will have a rotating schedule involving circulating, scrubbing, and documenting. An electronic medical record system and PACS will be utilized in daily operations.
