Job Title: Clienttion Therapist Profession: Clienttion Therapist Specialty: Clienttion Therapist Duration: 15 Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year experience License: Required licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Clienttion Therapy Certifications: Required Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent preferred; Master's Degree preferred; CPR or Basic Life Support certification preferred Description: Administers ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians. Delivers the prescribed course of radiation therapy by checking prescription, diagnosis chart, and patient identification. Explains procedures to patients, means of communication during treatment, and basic treatment procedures. Delivers prescribed daily dose to patients, observing radiation safety measures for patients and personnel. Prepares room and equipment for patients according to prescription or simulation regarding immobilization devices, etc. Transfers patients to treatment couch, giving attention to the special needs of the patients. Observes patients for unusual reactions and signs of developing complications during treatment. Reports reactions and complications to supervisor and department physician. Maintains records, including daily treatment records. Regularly reviews patient charts to eliminate errors and to ensure that blood counts and special reports are properly recorded. Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commitment to the safety and well-being of all associates and patients is required. Completion of all required vaccinations is a condition of employment.
