Job Title: Clienttion Therapist Profession: Clienttion Oncology Specialty: Clienttion Therapist Duration: 6 months Shift: Days, Mon-Fri Hours per Shift: 8am-4:30pm Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: State licensed radiation therapist Certifications: ARRT license; CPR certified Must-Have: Truebeam/Aria experience preferred Description: Under general supervision, the Clienttion Therapist performs radiotherapy procedures as prescribed by a physician according to established standards and practices. Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures, and practice guidelines. Education: A minimum of an associate’s degree in radiography with a certification in radiation therapy is required. A bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy is preferred. Graduate of a JRCERT approved school registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Clienttion Therapy. Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of radiation therapy experience is preferred. Job-related Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Essential Job Functions: Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy using equipment according to established practices and standards. Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures. Observes patients for any unusual reactions or events during treatment. Follows established departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives. Schedules patients for treatments and interfaces with physicist at initiation of treatment. Consults with supportive care physicians, nurses, and social workers. Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification to ensure accurate treatments. Prepares electronic and/or written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Prepares room and equipment for patients. Transfers immobilized patients from stretcher to treatment couch with special care. Positions patients in prescribed anatomical positions for treatment. Reinforces recommendations given to patients by the physician and other care providers. Performs verification and port film exposures for all treated areas. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Physical Capacity Demand: Medium Work: Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally. Exerting up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently. Exerting a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often. Psychological/Mental analytical abilities, memory, problem-solving, and creativity are required. Communication and collaboration with coworkers, physicians, and patients are needed.
