Job Title: Clienttion Therapist Profession: Clienttion Therapist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current license in state of practice is required if applicable Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association, ARRT, RT(T) certifications in radiation therapy Must-Have: BASIC PATIENT CARE PRESCRIPTION VERIFICATION PATIENT SIMULATION PATIENT EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION OF IONIZING RADIATION Description: The Clienttion Therapist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Clienttion Oncologist. This role is accountable for the simulation of patients in preparation for radiation therapy, basic patient care, and education. Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification. Explains procedures to patients, reinforcing the instructions regarding reactions to the treatment and their care. Prepares the room and equipment for the patient according to the prescription, including immobilization devices, blocks, and field sizes. Transfers patients as needed. Verifies the treatment machines and beam energy in the treatment chart, noting prescribed adjustments. Documents treatment machines, cumulative dose, site-specific doses, treatment parameters, instructions, diagrams, photos, and all billing information. Performs treatment simulation and all required procedures, including cerrobend block fabrication. Develops x-rays and port films as needed, filing them appropriately. Observes and inquires about any unusual reactions or events from the patient. Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintains appropriate stock levels. Completes daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information. Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement, including processes that could be streamlined to enhance patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create issues for patients and staff, taking appropriate actions. Documents patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Escalates non-routine issues, questions, or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare providers. Ensures safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required. Promotes the mission, vision, and values, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
