Job Title: Radiation Therapist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Radiation Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: - Minimum years of experience: No previous experience required. - Prior experience in a progressive radiation oncology department preferred. License: - Required license: ARRT T Certifications: - Required certifications: BLS Must-Have: - EMR experience: 1-year minimum experience with EPIC EMR required. - Ability to float to other units as needed. Description: This position is for a Radiation Therapist working Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The therapist will provide radiation therapy to patients as part of the oncology team. Responsibilities include delivering external beam therapy, performing quality assurance checks, and maintaining patient records. Candidates should have strong skills in patient care and a focus on safety protocols. Experience with custom molds, simulation of treatment sites, and various radiation therapy technologies is preferred. The therapist will work with diverse patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support services are available, including social services and rapid response teams. Compliance with safety measures and protocols is essential. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills and a commitment to patient education. Floating to other units may be required based on patient census and staffing needs. This position requires a proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
