Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves working in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit specializing in care for children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role entails managing multiple escalated patients, de-escalation techniques, and physical interventions, including supports such as mechanical restraints if necessary.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with one twelve-hour shift float to other units.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification obtained on site; 6 months of experience working with children or adolescents; basic EMT or RN licensure; located in Kentucky.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Comfort with physical holds, de-escalation, IM (Intramuscular) injections, and recognizing increased agitation proactively.
  • Float: Candidates should be comfortable floating throughout the unit and open to schedule/shift flexibility, understanding they may not remain on the same unit or shift consistently.
