Job Summary
Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Spokane, Washington. This position involves providing cardiovascular and acute care within a 34-bed facility that functions as a level 3 trauma center. The role requires managing patients with cardiac diagnoses such as myocardial infarction, post-operative open-heart surgery, arrhythmias, and transitioning from intensive care. The position offers day shifts, a flexible work schedule, and opportunities to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, scheduled in 6-week cycles.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in a cardiac or Progressive Care Unit setting, valid licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, and the ability to care for cardiovascular patientsincluding rhythm interpretation and management of cardiac drips such as nitroglycerin, heparin, amiodarone, and others.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, epidurals, and the use of EMR systems such as EPIC; familiarity with IV pumps like Alaris, medication dispensing via Pyxis, and Philips monitors.
- Floating: Float rotation may be required, including coverage on Medical-Surgical units and overflow ICU assignments.
- Additional Information: This position involves participation in a weekend rotation every other week, with no scheduled on-call; optional opportunity to pick up extra shifts. The unit prioritizes team-oriented, respectful, and calm personality traits in candidates. Scrub attire is professional solid colors without logos or graphics. Parking is available through designated lots and parking garages.
