Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves providing patient care within a specialized medical-surgical setting, focusing on adult and geriatric patient populations. The position supports a high standard of clinical practice and requires flexibility in floating within scope to meet facility needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, 2 years of RN experience, 5 years of patient ratio experience, charting experience in Epic electronic medical record system, and minimum of 1 year of travel experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cardiac Telemetry, ER holding, management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, and unit-specific skills such as managing feeding tubes, CVA, renal failure, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, and tracheostomy care.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to cover all intermediate areas within scope as needed.
- Additional Information: This position involves working in a tertiary care hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation, staffing a unit with 24 beds, and supporting interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. The candidate must be willing to work holiday shifts, weekend shifts (8 per 6-week schedule), and accommodate block schedule requests. RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days, with final scheduling confirmed at submission.
