Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring NIHSS certification and the ability to charge or precept nearly every shift.

Details

  • Work in the Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit, an 18-bed unit including 4 epilepsy monitoring beds
  • Care for patients with stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 36 hours per week over 3 shifts per day at 12 hours each
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May be required to work in a charge or precepting role on nearly every shift

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • Charge nurse and precepting experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive clinical nursing care to patients with complex neurological and ENT conditions
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process within an interdisciplinary team
  • Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and care plan development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to evaluate and improve patient outcomes
