Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring OH or compact RN license and current PICU experience with willingness to float to multiple units.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a children's hospital
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Float requirement to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and Medical-Surgical units as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required
  • First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent Level 1 trauma experience
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Two supervisory or manager-titled references required, cannot be charge nurse references
  • Skilled in ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, and acute airway maintenance
  • Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, and IV therapy
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and use of the Broselow system
  • Experience with continuous sedation and IV vasopressor administration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Must be prepared to float to different units depending on assignment needs
  • Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the past 2 years
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are not eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers will be considered with sufficient PICU experience
