The primary focus is on providing Physical Therapy Assistant treatments. Physical therapy is a core service provided by this organization. Services are to be provided in compliance with hospital standards and licensure requirements. Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) work as part of a team to provide services under the direction of a physical therapist. PTAs implement patient interventions as outlined by the physical therapist. They are responsible for obtaining data related to those interventions and making necessary modifications to ensure safety and comfort. PTAs assist in the treatment of individuals of all ages with medical or health-related conditions that limit mobility. The physical therapist develops treatment plans using various techniques to promote movement and restore function. PTAs do not conduct evaluations or testing. This role includes providing services to both in-patient and out-patient populations in various settings. PTAs may review clinical records and may attend care conferences. It is essential to collaborate with other team members for effective care planning. PTAs document findings and treatments according to hospital policies. They direct the work of support staff, students, or interns as required. Education and therapy programs are developed based on patient and family needs. Providing home exercise programs to facilitate self-care and independence is a critical aspect of the job. PTAs assist in administrative tasks and help maintain clinical supplies. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards is essential. The role may involve working outside clinical settings in community events and home visits.
