Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
  • Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments in an outpatient setting, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
  • Complete medical record documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
  • Ensure all care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required
  • Participate in student programs as assigned, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing
Required Qualifications
  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure in good standing in the state of California
  • Prior outpatient physical therapy experience required — new graduates will not be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement functional treatment programs focused on return to community activities
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation, goal writing, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
  • Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities
  • Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students in a clinical setting
