Key Responsibilities- Provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
- Ensure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home programs
- Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
- Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Required Qualifications- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Certification through the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
- Active and valid state PTA license
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Ability to follow clinical direction from a licensed Physical Therapist
- Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and therapeutic exercises
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and care teams
- Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with a diverse patient population
