    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness.
    • Administer and demonstrate therapeutic modalities including whirlpools, hot/cold packs, paraffin bath, ultrasound, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and air splints.
    • Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress and response to treatment on a weekly basis.
    • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on safe mobility, transfers, positioning, exercise, and proper body mechanics; document family participation weekly.
    • Participate in team conferences, maintain professional working relationships with patients and staff, and comply with all facility policies, safety, and infection control guidelines.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license valid in the state of Florida.
    • Knowledge of and ability to implement physical therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
    • Proficiency in safe patient handling techniques and use of assistive and mobility devices.
    • Ability to operate and apply therapeutic modalities safely and effectively.
    • Adherence to all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines including proper use of PPE.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care setting.
    • Experience with community re-entry training and caregiver education programs.
    • Participation in continuing education and willingness to provide in-service education to peers and other healthcare professionals.
