Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday–Friday with 2 evenings until 6:00 PM | Outpatient | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
- Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness.
- Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, whirlpools, paraffin bath, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and electrical stimulation units.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment, document progress, and record patient and family education and participation.
- Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment; follow all infection control, safety, and equipment handling policies, and report malfunctioning or missing equipment as appropriate.
- Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines, participate in team conferences, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Required Qualifications- Current, active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice in the state of Georgia.
- Knowledge and competency in applying therapeutic exercise and physical therapy modalities in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to perform safe patient handling techniques and demonstrate proper guarding and gait training methods.
- Commitment to patient and employee safety standards, including infection control and workplace hazard awareness.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
- Familiarity with community re-entry training and endurance or cardiac rehabilitation programs.
- Strong customer service orientation with demonstrated ability to build professional relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff.
