Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – Long Term Care

Key Responsibilities- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.
- Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
- Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required facility trainings and in-services.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
Required Qualifications- Active Missouri Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license required.
- Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience required; new graduates with Level II clinical experience (not solely Level I observation) will be considered.
- Long Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience required.
- Adherence to APTA and Missouri state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience supervising or supporting students in a clinical setting under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
- Familiarity with DME procurement processes and regulatory compliance in a long term care environment.
