Contract | Days | Variable weekly schedule including Monday through Friday shifts

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance, coordination, endurance, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
  • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding and gait belt techniques.
  • Administer and demonstrate therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, whirlpool, paraffin bath, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and TENS units.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient and family education.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safe patient handling practices, and equipment safety standards.
  • Participate in team conferences, collaborate with other healthcare disciplines, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Ohio.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement physical therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Proficiency in the application of therapeutic modalities and assistive device training.
  • Strong documentation skills for recording patient progress and treatment responses.
  • Commitment to patient and employee safety, including adherence to infection control and safe patient handling guidelines.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with community re-entry training and functional skills rehabilitation.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic pool and aquatic therapy modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
