Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Long Term Care

Key Responsibilities- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist
- Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
- Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and other required facility and company meetings or trainings
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders
Required Qualifications- Active Missouri Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
- Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience
- Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience
- Adherence to APTA standards, state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working with Medicare A, Medicare B, and Managed Care patient populations
- Familiarity with group therapy practices in a long term care or rehabilitation environment
