Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (alternate weekend schedules available) | 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver physical therapy treatments following the supervising Physical Therapist's plan of care, targeting 16 units of treatment per day
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for an adult and geriatric patient population in an acute care setting, including patients with cardiac, orthopedic, and general medical conditions
  • Implement home exercise programs and provide patient and family education on safety and injury prevention
  • Perform lifting, transfers, and mobility assistance using appropriate equipment and body mechanics
  • Conduct assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, pain assessments, vital signs, and identification of environmental barriers
  • Accurately complete billing documentation and charting using Cerner
Required Qualifications
  • Active West Virginia Physical Therapy Assistant license (pending license accepted for submission; active license required prior to start)
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience
  • Acute care hospital experience required
  • BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Proficiency with equipment including bed alarms, call lights, crutches, gait belt, hospital beds, rolling walkers, and sit-to-stand lifts
  • Experience with assessments including assistive devices, arousal and attention, sensory response, and vital signs monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with Hoyer lift, sliding boards, lower extremity prosthetics, soft/hard collars, specialty beds, and supplemental oxygen
  • Prior travel assignment experience (strong specialty experience may be considered in lieu of travel experience)
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
