You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active—under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active state Physical Therapist Assistant license in Indiana required to start the assignment.
- BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
- Outpatient physical therapy experience within the last 2 years is required.
- No new graduates. Minimum prior clinical experience required.
- Experience implementing therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief techniques, and functional skills training.
- Proficiency with common outpatient modalities and equipment including hot/cold packs, ultrasound, TENS, whirlpool, paraffin, fluidotherapy, therapeutic pool (if applicable), and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Demonstrated ability to follow safe patient handling and infection control procedures.
- Ability to document patient progress and provide patient and family education per clinic standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to other clinic locations if floating is required may be necessary.
- Preferred: Additional certifications or training in outpatient orthopedics, therapeutic modalities, or manual techniques.
