Description: The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the direction of a physical therapist, is responsible for assisting with tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Physical Therapy services to participants. These services are delivered in the center and in participants' homes to maximize independence and safety and to develop or restore function. The Physical Therapist Assistant collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote team culture and mission. Responsibilities include administering participant treatment programs, assisting the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordination with other members of the rehabilitation team is required to implement activities and programs based on individual treatment plans. Tasks also include handling scheduling for treatment, clinical visits, and documentation of Physical Therapy interventions. The role involves providing training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers on the use and care of therapeutic equipment. It is important to track and manage maintenance for equipment while remaining alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers. Updates to the Physical Therapist are essential for any changes in participants' conditions or functional status. Participation in end-of-life care coordination and support under supervision is also required. All actions must be performed within the legal scope of practice. Timely completion of all required documentation and adherence to confidentiality and privacy regulations are mandatory. Participation in Quality Improvement activities, training, and meetings is expected. Flexibility in assignments is necessary as business needs evolve. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
