Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the direction of a physical therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Physical Therapy services.
These services are provided to participants to maximize independence and safety.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
Core job responsibilities include:
- Administering participant treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist.
- Assisting the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
- Coordinating with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on individual treatment plans.
- Tracking and managing maintenance for equipment.
- Remaining alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers, and updating the Physical Therapist promptly of any changes in condition.
- Participating under supervision in end-of-life care coordination and support.
- Completing all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Protecting privacy and maintaining confidentiality of all company procedures and information.
- Following policies and procedures and participating in required training and meetings.
- Communicating regularly with supervisors and teams regarding workload and priorities.
- Exercising flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule includes on-site work for three days and off-site work for two days, which may include mobile visits for treatments and some telehealth.
The Physical Therapist Assistant is also responsible for scheduling recurring appointments and maintaining the rehabilitation gym.
