Job Overview
We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week contract assignment in Alameda, California. The PTA will assist in providing rehabilitation services to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness within a hospital and rehabilitation setting.
This role requires strong patient care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery and mobility goals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
Provide therapeutic exercises and mobility training under PT supervision
Monitor patient response to therapy and report progress or concerns
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Educate patients on exercises, mobility techniques, and therapy goals
Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and functional activities
Ensure patient safety and adherence to rehabilitation protocols
Collaborate with healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required
Graduate of an accredited PTA program required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
Previous hospital or rehabilitation experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage patient caseloads effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, safety standards, and patient care practices
