Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Inpatient Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: 12 to 18 months of related experience, excluding clinical affiliations required to complete a degree. License: Current PTA license in good standing required. Certifications: Current CPR certification required. Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required. Description: Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Education Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Focus with attention to detail is essential. Ability to solve problems and make decisions is required. Compassion towards individuals experiencing pain or functional loss is necessary. Candidates must handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Physical demands include standing and walking, bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and the ability to occasionally lift up to 250 pounds using proper body mechanics for up to or exceeding 8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movements are required. Candidates must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Good manual dexterity is necessary. Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse to utilize computer software for patient care documentation is required. The work environment involves patient care within a hospital setting. There is potential risk for exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Clinical responsibilities may involve working with various patient populations, including those with neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries, and complex medical issues. Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings for patient care planning is expected. All patients receive 3 hours of therapy per day.
