Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PTA Inpatient Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: State licensed Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: 1 previous travel assignment Flu vaccine required Description: The Physical Therapy Assistant will work in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. Candidates must have at least 2 years of prior experience. Experience with various patient diagnoses including orthopedics, transplant, med surg, neurology, and ICU is necessary. A strong foundation in cardiopulmonary care, geriatrics, neurology, oncology, and orthopedics is preferred. Skills in assessment, patient evaluation, discharge planning, and use of assistive devices are required. Candidates should be adept in body mechanics, gait training, and monitoring vital signs. They will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care. The daily census may include a variety of adult and geriatric patients. This role requires a proactive approach to patient management and rehabilitation techniques. Adherence to facility policies and procedures is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate effective time management and strong communication skills.
