Job Overview

We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 14-week contract assignment in Kennebunk, Maine. This role is based in an outpatient rehabilitation setting specializing in ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) and neurological recovery services.

The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, function, and independence. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach within a multidisciplinary rehab team.


Key Responsibilities

Assist in implementing physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercises and functional mobility training to patients
Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and mobility techniques
Support gait training, balance work, and strength conditioning programs
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to optimize patient outcomes
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and facility standards


Requirements

Active PTA license in the state of Maine required
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
Prior experience in outpatient rehabilitation or neuro rehab preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow treatment plans accurately and work under supervision of PT
Commitment to patient safety, mobility improvement, and functional independence
