Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Acute Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in acute care settings License: Must have an active in-state license prior to start date Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience in managing high acuity patients. - Knowledge of charting systems. - Ability to work on weekends (at least one weekend per month). - Willingness to float within the facility. Description: This position is for a Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care setting. The Physical Therapy Assistant will work primarily Monday through Friday. There is a requirement to work at least one weekend per month. The candidate is expected to handle a daily caseload of patients. Patients may include those with a variety of diagnoses, including CABG, stroke, TBI, and joint replacements. Responsibilities include conducting therapeutic activities and exercises, as well as assessing patient progress. The position requires daily documentation and teamwork with other rehabilitation professionals. Candidates should have experience in both ICU and progressive care units. The role is vital in ensuring appropriate discharge recommendations based on patient needs. The candidate will follow established plans of care for each patient.
