Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility and function
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, balance, and coordination
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies
- Document patient progress accurately and communicate effectively with the therapy team
- Operate and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment
- Adapt treatments to meet individual patient needs and goals
Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active PTA license in the state of Georgia (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a PTA
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercises and modalities
- Understanding of patient safety and infection control practices
- Proficient in documentation and electronic medical records
