Job Description & Requirements
Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient - (PTA)
StartDate: 7/20/2026 Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $1662.00 - $1713.00

This Physical Therapist Assistant role is based in Clackamas, Oregon, a vibrant suburb in the Portland metropolitan area known for its convenient access to both city amenities and outstanding outdoor recreation. Clackamas offers easy access to shopping and dining at popular retail centers, nearby parks and trails, and a short drive to downtown Portland’s cultural scene, restaurants, and entertainment. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy being within reach of the Oregon Coast, the Columbia River Gorge, and Mount Hood for year-round hiking, skiing, and adventure. The area offers a strong sense of community, quality schools, and an active, health-focused lifestyle. The clinic is a modern outpatient physical therapy setting designed to support high-quality, evidence-based care. You will work alongside a collaborative team of Physical Therapists, PTAs, and support staff in a setting that emphasizes mentorship, continuous learning, and patient-centered outcomes. The environment is fast-paced yet supportive, with streamlined processes and an EMR system that allows you to focus on direct patient care. As a PTA in this role, you will implement treatment plans established by a supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on restoring function, reducing pain, and improving quality of life for a variety of patients. Typical patient populations include individuals with orthopaedic injuries, post-surgical conditions, sports-related issues, work-related injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will guide patients through therapeutic exercises, functional training, and appropriate manual techniques within your scope, while ensuring safe and effective progress toward their goals. A typical day may include seeing a steady caseload of scheduled patients across a full shift, with time dedicated to both hands-on care and timely documentation. You will monitor patient responses, communicate changes to the supervising PT, and adjust exercises and activities as directed. Patient education is a key component of the role, including instruction on home exercise programs, posture and body mechanics, and lifestyle modifications that support recovery. The clinic emphasizes teamwork, open communication, and a professional yet friendly atmosphere. Newer clinicians can expect support and guidance, while experienced PTAs can take on more complex caseloads, mentoring opportunities, or specialized program involvement. There is an emphasis on utilizing up-to-date treatment approaches and maintaining high clinical standards, making this a strong resume-building opportunity for PTAs who are looking to grow in outpatient practice. Shifts typically align with outpatient clinic hours, including daytime and some early evening availability to accommodate patient schedules. Full-time hours generally involve a consistent weekly schedule, with flexibility discussed at the clinic level. Patient flow is structured to allow meaningful one-on-one interactions, while still maintaining an efficient and organized clinic day.
