Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Home Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 (08:30 - 17:00) Experience: 1 year preferred; will consider 1 year on a case-by-case basis License: South Carolina PTA license required; must obtain prior to starting Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Home health experience preferred Description: This position requires a Physical Therapy Assistant for home health services. Home health experience is preferred but all PTA experience will be considered. The shift is from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00. All time off requests must be included in the initial submission. Attendance policy: If more than two shifts are missed per 13-week contract without a reasonable explanation, the contract may be reviewed for cancellation. A background in acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility is advantageous. Skills in handling crutches, gait belts, lower extremity prosthetics, and various mobility aids are preferred. Experience with conditions such as post-operative rehabilitation, cognitive disorders, and various other rehabilitation needs is important. Traveler compliance will include a testing requirement for cardiac dysrhythmia and moderate sedation as applicable. Compliance documents must be submitted in advance of the scheduled start date. Recent experience with electronic health record systems is preferred. The position will involve providing care to adult and geriatric populations. A daily census of approximately six patients is expected, with six visits per day. Candidates must be prepared for potential pass/fail testing on the first day. All submissions must comply with the stated travel radius and attendance policy.
