Job Summary for Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):
- Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
- Implement treatment plans to improve residents mobility, strength, balance, and functional ability in a skilled nursing facility setting.
- Deliver direct therapy interventions (exercises, gait training, balance activities) to residents.
- Observe and report resident progress and changes in condition to the supervising PT.
- Assist with resident assessments and contribute to care planning and documentation.
- Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques for use outside therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment and assistive devices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated resident care.
- Adhere to all professional, state, federal, and facility regulations and standards.
- Maintain ethical standards, licensure, and continuing education requirements.
- Work in a skilled nursing facility/long-term care environment, requiring standing, lifting, and assisting residents.
- Function effectively as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.W
