Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - $1,136 to $1,336 per week in Lake Wales, FL

Overview

Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant in Lake Wales, FL. You will work with patients recovering from injury or illness in an outpatient setting, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. The role follows facility standards for safety, infection control, documentation, and patient-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active Florida PTA license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred.
• Familiarity with common therapeutic modalities and assistive devices, including whirlpool, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and gait training.
• Ability to implement treatment plans and document patient progress per facility policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience training patients in locomotion with orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
• Experience with balance, coordination, and functional skills training.
• Experience working within interdisciplinary teams and participating in case conferences.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide outpatient therapeutic interventions as established by the Physical Therapist. Interventions include posture training, strengthening, endurance/cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and community re-entry training. Train patients in the safe use of assistive devices and demonstrate proper guarding techniques. Monitor patient response, document progress, and participate in quality improvement and interdisciplinary communication. Follow safety and infection control procedures at all times.
