Lake Wales offers access to Bok Tower Gardens and Lake Kissimmee State Park, with the park located about 20 miles east of the city for hiking, paddling, and wildlife viewing. The city sits in Central Florida between Orlando and Tampa, each roughly 60 to 70 miles away, which supports weekend access to major airports, entertainment districts, and professional sports venues.
