Key Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments in an outpatient setting, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring design of functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities
- Participate in student programs as assigned, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of California
- Prior outpatient physical therapy experience required — new graduates will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
- Proficiency in clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience participating in or supervising student clinical education programs
- Active involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives in a clinical setting
