Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
  • Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatment sessions, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
  • Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
  • Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of California
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist (new graduates will not be considered)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
  • Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional code of conduct and applicable State Practice Act
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
  • Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students
  • Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities
