Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
  • Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities.
  • Complete thorough medical record documentation in a clear, concise, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
  • Ensure all care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required for patient care.
  • Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned.
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements, and actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Maine.
  • Ability to complete comprehensive patient evaluations and develop goal-directed treatment plans focused on progressing patients toward discharge.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice act requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and infection control practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students.
  • Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives in a clinical environment.
