Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
  • Design functional treatment programs that support effective patient return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
  • Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients while ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
  • Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Maine
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
  • Demonstrated competency in medical record documentation in compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
  • Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
  • Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities
