Physical Therapist – Outpatient

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | Four 9-hour shifts plus one 4-hour shift on Fridays
Key Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to the discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
- Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervision channels
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in outpatient orthopedics
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and functional goals
- Proficiency in clinical documentation including progress notes, discharge summaries, and letters of medical necessity
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives in an outpatient environment
- Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations
