Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of patients' physical, motor, and developmental skills to determine deficits and establish realistic rehabilitation plans of care.
Develop, implement, and adjust individualized physical therapy treatment plans; document evaluations, progress notes, plans of care, and physician correspondence accurately and in a timely manner.
Facilitate patient mobility skills utilizing safe patient handling techniques and equipment; adapt environments and materials to promote functional mobility and reduce deficits.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment procedures, home programs, health maintenance, and strategies to support continued progress outside of therapy.
Supervise and provide direction to physical therapist assistants and therapy technicians; collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to coordinate care.
Participate in continuing education, competency maintenance, and quality improvement activities to ensure practice remains consistent with current best practices.
Required Qualifications
Active North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy license required; must be in hand at time of submission.
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Minimum of 2 years of physical therapy experience required.
Acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation experience required.
Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for this travel contract.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience supervising physical therapist assistants, therapy technicians, or students in a clinical setting.
Demonstrated experience mentoring clinical students or orienting new rehabilitation staff.
