Physical Therapist – Outpatient

Contract | Days | Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM (10-hour shifts); Tuesday–Friday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM (some flexibility) | 13-week assignment with option to extend

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
  • Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities.
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
  • Ensure all care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required for patient care.
  • Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned.
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement evidence-based, patient-centered treatment plans and goals.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation, goal writing, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students in a clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality improvement initiatives in an outpatient environment.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations or ongoing continuing education beyond state-mandated requirements.
