Physical Therapist – Outpatient

Contract | Days | 40 hours per week | Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Tuesday, Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
  • Design functional treatment programs that support effective patient return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
  • Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals.
  • Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Proficiency in outpatient physical therapy evaluation and treatment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards including safe patient handling and infection control protocols.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students in a clinical setting.
  • Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations.
  • Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives in a clinical environment.
