Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
  • Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge and effective return to community activities within an established length of stay
  • Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients
  • Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements; actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional organizations
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Colorado
  • Ability to perform 60-minute evaluations and 30-minute follow-up treatment sessions in an outpatient setting
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation including goal writing, medical necessity letters, and charge entry in compliance with applicable guidelines
  • Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
  • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
  • Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
  • Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality of care initiatives
