Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Design functional treatment programs that support effective patient progression toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitate return to community activities
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory agency requirements, and actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional activities

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in outpatient orthopedics
• Proficiency in clinical documentation, goal writing, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and ethical standards
• Ability to maintain required continuing education credits as mandated by the state

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience mentoring or supervising Physical Therapy students in a clinical setting
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality of care initiatives
